ChemCert Training group delivers AQF3 chemical accreditation courses all over Australia. The AQF3 units AHCCHM303 Prepare and Apply Chemicals and AHCCHM304 Transport and Store Chemicals have recently been updated.
The new AQF3 units are AHCCHM307 Prepare and Apply Chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases and AHCCHM304 Transport and Store Chemicals.
ChemCert will start delivering the new units in our AQF3 course from the 1 st of October for face to face students and from the 7 th of October for our online course.
Due to the unit change, we have spent considerable time rewriting and redeveloping our AQF3 course to fit in the requirements of the new course. The new course will cover pest identification, integrated pest management and work health and safety incident reporting, as well as safe transport & storage, weather conditions suitable for spraying, calibration techniques, knowledge to limit spray drift, risk assessments and hazard control forms and record keeping which were in our previous coursework.
Our new AQF3 face to face courses will also have an extended practical assessment which covers the entire chemical use journey. Starting from transporting and loading the student then moves onto chemical and equipment selection, then pre-operation and weather checks, PPE fitment, measuring and mixing chemicals, calibration, spill response and finally equipment decontamination and chemical disposal. The practical is structured to follow what could happen when students are back in the workplace.
ChemCert recently held its annual conference in Sydney on 16 th and 17 th September 2019. ChemCert CEO Brian Halse, staff members and 21 trainers from different states in Australia attended two days of activities and professional development. The conference focus was to prep the trainers in the new coursework to ensure the best techniques and knowledge for delivery of the new course.
ChemCert have also developed a learning, literacy and numeracy quiz which is now accessible online and through this link: https://form.jotform.co/91400704915855
The quiz is to help students assess whether they have the required skills to complete the AQF3 course, or if they will require some extra assistance on the day from our trainers.
We hope you enrol in one of our new courses soon and welcome any feedback regarding your training experience.
